An original background color key concept from the Don Bluth Studios animated film The Secret of NIMH (1982). The background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. Don Bluth was notorious for his attention to detail and would often change the layout, look, or color pallette in a scene after seeing dailies. A similar background with very different colors appears in the final version of the film when Mrs. Brisby and Jeremy enter into the tree. Measuring 6.5"x9" overall and with the image area measuring 6.25"x8.75", the background color key concept is in fine condition with a pin hole on the top edge and minor wear from studio use and handling.
