An original storyboard drawing from the Ralph Bakshi animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss children's story, "The Butter Battle Book" (1989). Featuring a vibrant illustration of a dual sided archway, the story concept is attributed to iconic children's illustrator Ted Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. Early storyboards were created for the film Maurice Noble, but Noble stated in an interview that Seuss was not pleased with the direction of the film at that time. It is possible that the drawing by Seuss was done to help redirect the vision and look of the film to better capture his classic book. The rare drawing by Seuss captures the legendary style of the beloved creator. Measuring 8.5"x11" overall, with the image itself measuring 7.25"x10.25", the drawing is in very good condition with minor discoloration, and slight edge and surface wear due to age and handling.
